Subi Sridharan is a UK-based wildlife and travel photographer whose work explores the emotional connection between animals, landscapes and light. Drawn especially to Africa’s wild places, he photographs moments that reveal stillness, behaviour, scale and atmosphere — from intimate animal portraits to sweeping desert forms. His photography is guided by patience and observation. Rather than simply recording what is in front of the camera, Subi aims to preserve the feeling of a moment: the curiosity in a young gorilla’s eyes, the quiet strength of an elephant herd, the tenderness between a mother and foal, or the sculptural beauty of dunes shaped by wind and time. In monochrome, Subi is particularly interested in how colour gives way to form, texture and emotion. Black and white allows him to simplify the frame and draw attention to gesture, contrast, rhythm and mood, creating images that feel timeless and contemplative. Alongside his personal work, Subi has contributed to conservation through photography, supporting initiatives such as Prints for Wildlife and Exposure Against Extinction, where images are used to raise awareness and support for the natural world. His prints have also been displayed in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Subi’s aim is to create photographs that honour the natural world with honesty and sensitivity, inviting viewers to pause, look closer and feel the quiet presence of the wild.
