Peter is a geologist and world traveler with an eye for the raw beauty of the natural and manmade world. His preferred medium is black and white photography, as he finds that this affords the greatest expression of shape, light and texture. As a geologist he is naturally drawn to the possibilities of landscape imagery, but also finds inspiration from industrial and urban scenes, when they offer a hard or edgy scene. Inspired by the classic works of Ansel Adams, Peter strives to capture the beauty and simplicity of the land, adopting a minimalist approach to editing or alteration. Peter has attended classes in photographic techniques at the Houston Center for Photography, and his work has been featured in juried exhibitions at the New York Center for Photographic Art, the Southeast Center for Photography in Greenville South Carolina, the Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis, the Dallas Center for Photography and the Houston Center for Photography. Peter splits his time between Houston, Texas and Victoria, British Columbia.
