Clint Whitmer was born August 2, 1944, in Glendive, MT. My father was a water well driller. I later became a geologist and secured a MSSE in Science Teaching. I too my first photos as a Combat Medic in 1969 in Vietnam. Later during an overseas employment as a consulting geologist, I took many photos of the Omani people and the Arabic culture. Returning to Montana, I focused my camera on Native American culture. I took many photos of the oil field during my employment there. I started with an Olympus pen f that I bought in the Americal division PX in Chu Lai, Vietnam. I bought a Nikon 801 camera in Oman. While an Instructor at a Native American junior college, I bought a Canon camera. I had a Bronica SQA which I used for wedding photography. I switched to digital in 2000, have owned at least four large format printers, and a flatbed scanner. I use various softwares and still print many photographs. I have owned 20 cameras. I still shoot with Nikon cameras, and presently use a Canon printer. I am active in the local photography club. I have had photos in almost 30 exhibits, with a best-of -show, I have been published in calendars, in newspapers and several magazines. I use photography as art, creating art from my images.
