Cathedral of Light
Captured just after sunrise above a local woodland, as fog and low sunlight aligned across the forest canopy. From above, the light reveals a layered structure in the landscape that is not visible from the ground.
About Artist
John Goossens
John Goossens (b. 1977, Netherlands) is a Netherlands-based photographer working primarily in landscape and nature photography. His practice centers on close observation of natural environments and the subtle presence of human-made structures within them. Working mostly in the Netherlands, he often returns to the same subjects to explore repetition and gradual transformation. Recent projects include Leaf Studies, an ongoing series focused on variation within botanical forms, and A Fixed Line, an aerial project documenting a forest road from above over time. Through these works, he explores perspective, structure, and change. He is largely self-taught and complements his independent practice with selected workshops.
