A native to Southwest Virginia, photographer Pippi Miller, is most at peace in the woods,
beside a river, or hiking to the peaks of her Blue Ridge Mountains. She finds solace there.
Sharing the wonders of the natural world with her son is one of her greatest joys and has
inspired her most recent body of work where she tries to commit to “silver” the shifting and
ever growing connections of humans, with each other, as well as with the natural world that
stands witness to our brief passage through it.
Pippi studied photography at Hollins University and now owns her own art gallery in
Blacksburg, VA where her second greatest joy is supporting her local art community in a
multitude of ways. From framing to curating to advising and documenting their work it allows
her access to all parts of the creative process in not just her own work but in so many others as
well!
Her work has been shown in solo, group, and juried exhibitions in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. She was won a number of awards including Best in Shows at -Radford City’s Fine art show, 2019, -Floyd Center for the Arts National Juried Show, 2021, -Academy Center for The Arts National Photography Show, Lynchburg VA 2023 - Allegany National Photography Show, Cumberland MD, 2024.
