Polar bear youngsters are playful creatures, and this one had already worn out its mother. Lacking siblings, he improvised with solo play, leaping over and over from the ice edge into the water. Sometimes he'd come up with a chunk of ice or kelp, and these were then tossed with joyful enthusiasm.
