Where the Ground Gives Way
This body of work explores the tension between rapid industrial development and the loss of undeveloped land in my local community. Through photographs of warehouses and the remaining landscape, I examine how growth reshapes both the environment and a sense of place.
About Artist
Caitlyn Gold
My photography primarily examines the evolving relationship between nature, industry, and community, often documenting the transformation of small towns across the United States. Alongside my documentary work, I love to photograph the quiet beauty of natural landscapes. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design and am currently a Master of Fine Arts in Photography candidate at SCAD, where I continue to refine my documentary and fine art practice. Through my work, I strive to create thoughtful, visually compelling images grounded in strong composition, storytelling, and a sense of place.
