About Artist
Glenn Gilbert
As I primarily photograph landscapes and wildlife, my goal is to use photography to direct attention to the natural world. If just a few people are inspired to take better care of the environment as a result of my photographic advocacy, it will be worth the effort. On a different tack, having lived in New York City, London and Amsterdam, I also have an interest in historical and urban architecture. It may be absurd to think that we can preserve historic buildings forever (short of encasing them in amber) but, for as long as they can be maintained, they may encourage folks to take an interest in the history and culture these images represent. Photography can foster exploration. My photographs have been exhibited in Los Angeles and Orange County, California, and published in the LA Times, Audience magazine and Transit (a Japanese travel magazine). Digressing, I have also acted on stages in New York, London, Los Angeles, and the Pacific Northwest. Living now in Port Townsend, Washington, the beauty and diversity of the Pacific Northwest are a continual source of inspiration.
