The Trumpet
The sand-covered tip of the outstretched trunk tells the story of the elephant checking out his/her environment. I chose to tell the story leaving the viewer to ponder tow questions: 1) where the elephant was that the trunk had sand on it? and 2)what was the elephant reaching for? .

Vicki Santello, an award-winning photographer based in the United States, transitioned from a successful career in finance on Wall Street to fully dedicate herself to her passion for photography. City living and a stressful corporate career left her yearning for a deeper connection to nature, so she moved to North Central Florida, a mecca for birds, and focused on her passion. She has built a reputation for her stunning work in Africa and the polar regions. She dedicates 4-8 weeks to each location where she works, immersing herself in the environment to study animal behavior and capture exceptional images.
