ERZY WIERZBICKI was born in September 23, 1975, in Gdansk, Poland. In the 90’s photographer of the archeological missions in Syria, Iraq and Turkey. At the turn of the centuries focused on the social and economical changes after fall of Communism in Poland. Wierzbicki took part in numerous individual and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He received numerous artistic awards, among others: “Newsweek Poland” – in the daily life category 2002. “Polish Press Photo” – in the daily life category 2003. “Humanity Photo Award” daily life category China in 2004 and 2013. “Maghreb Photo Award” - Gold Medal 2020 “Kolga Tbilisi Award“ - 2021. “Vantage Point Sharjah 9” - 2021. “Maghreb Photo Award” - Gold Medal 2024 Refocus Photo Award - 2024 Analog Sparks Award - bronze medal 2024 Author of the books “Gdansk Suburbia” (2005) and “Sultanate of Oman” (2020). Since 2009 press photographer in the “Times of Oman” and Arabic language daily newspaper “Al Shabiba”. Since 2009 till 2014 staff photographer in the weekly “Y Magazine” (Sabco Media). Since 2023 assistant professor of Photography in Scientific College of Design in Muscat in Oman. His photography are held in the collections: National Museum in Gdansk, National Museum in Wroclaw Museum of Art MS2 in Lodz Museum of Photography in Krakow Centre of Modern Art „Laznia” in Gdansk NOMUS the New Museum of Art in Gdansk in Poland As well as in private collections in Poland, Spain, UK, Germany, Israel, United States, Japan, South Africa and Sultanate of Oman.
