The Argument

A Lappet-faced vulture flew into a kill zone where a black-backed jackal was feeding on scraps from a nearby carcass. The sudden arrival of the lappet-faced vulture was unwelcome and met with fierce resistance. However, the jackal was no match for the largest of all vulture species.

Vicki Santello, an award-winning photographer based in the United States, transitioned from a successful career in finance on Wall Street to fully dedicate herself to her passion for photography. City living and a stressful corporate career left her yearning for a deeper connection to nature, so she moved to North Central Florida, a mecca for birds, and focused on her passion. She has built a reputation for her stunning work in Africa and the polar regions. She dedicates 4-8 weeks to each location where she works, immersing herself in the environment to study animal behavior and capture exceptional images. Her passion for mentoring others inspired her to lead photography workshops and safaris, sharing her expertise and love for the craft.
