A retired scientist, Jerry Ranch has used photography since 1967 in both artistic and scientific pursuits. Ranch is an internationally curated artist who uses storytelling to communicate his perception of the world. I contend that contrast and ambiguity make pictures interesting.  That theory of art, and an understanding of the negative influence of conformity,  is the foundation of my approach to artmaking
