Portrait of my mother reworked. She had many loses and could not share or talk about it. She felt she had to maintain herself for my dad's job.
About Artist
Kathy Manley
Kathy Manley is a lens based artist living and working in the northern Virginia area. Her current worked is based on her adoption as an infant and the families she is a part of. Kathy is interested in questioning discoveries about members of her family using archival materials and personal stories. Kathy holds an Associates Degree in Fine Art Photography from Northern Virginia Community College and has continued her studies with Los Angles Center for Photography, Santa Fe Workshops, National Geographic, Colorado Photographic Arts Center, Center of Photographic Art as well as other local learning experiences. Kathys work has been published in several books and magazines. Her work showing the customs of the "Day of the Dead" was presented and curated in a solo show in Northern Virginia. Recently Kathy has had work at the Griffin Museum of Photography and online at the ASmith Gallery.
