For much of my adult life, I worked in financial services and enjoyed photography as a hobby. It was just a few years ago that I decided to leave the world of banking behind and focus on my creative ambitions. Now, from my studio in Bath, England, I craft understated, refined portraits of single blooms and botanical subjects, capturing the unique personality of each one. My photographs take the form of a single subject composed against a black background. I have always believed that simplicity is fundamental to good art and design. I want my photography to draw the eye and provide an encounter that will raise spirits and leave the viewer in awe of the subject. Whilst I also create colour portraits, images in black and white allow me to emphasise the subject's true structure, shape and patterns. I like to experiment with light just enough to add some expression.
