Double Exposure
I maintain a daily painting practice that fills my home with countless nude paintings. Initially, photography served as a technical aid to my painting. A pivotal shift occurred when I included my paintings in my photographs. Subject or object? What happens when the they coexist in the same frame?
About Artist
Trina O’Hara
Trina O’Hara is a lifelong, highly trained painter and photographer from Australia, based in Perugia, Italy. In the early years Trina won prizes for outstanding achievement, drawing, and artistic distinction at the state level in Australia. She won the scholarship for a short residency with one of Australia's most famous artists, Arthur Boyd. Trina is proficient in a very wide range of visual art techniques: extending from 'life drawing', through stage & set design, printmaking, to classical atelier-style painting and photography. Trina attended the Gifted and Talented Program (Visual Arts) at Kalamunda Senior High School in Western Australia, received a BA with Honours in Fine Art from Edith Cowan University, and studied at the Nanjing Arts Institute in China. Later Trina undertook a series of intensive portrait and figure painting courses at the Angel Art Academy, The Florence Studio, and the Charles H. Cecil Studios in Italy, and at the Flemish Classical Atelier in Belgium. Along the way Trina also completed a graduate diploma in Education, short courses at Central St Martins College of Art & Design, a brief internship with the production designer, Jerry Dunn, in Hollywood, a Masters degree in Contemporary Art at Sotheby’s, and B2 level in Italian language at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. She has just published her first photography book "Body of Work: artist. camera. museum" with Snap Collective.
