Distance
Two trees, united in the same winter breath. One, the larger, seems to protect, the other, the smaller, seems to learn to resist. There is no separation between them, but balance: strength and fragility coexist and listen to each other.
About Artist
Cristina Capellino
I started taking pictures initially for fun with my old cell phone. I photographed mostly landscapes, but also colors, shapes, lines and geometries and the photos were a real disaster. I switched to a compact camera, but it wasn't enough. Thanks to a friend, I started taking my first shots with his self-taught reflex. In 2016, I held my first photographic exhibition. Since 2017, I have participated in workshops and courses, trying to deepen the technical, but also emotional aspect of photography. I work with natural light, but I have also experimented with continuous light and flash. Natural light is what excites me the most. Portraits in natural light become magic: you can really get to grasp gestures, expressions, stopping a moment and capturing the emotion in its entirety. I like everything that is color, shape, movement. I have a long way to go, but I like to learn. I don't know how to post-produce yet, but I like to proceed slowly... I'll get to that too. I photograph because through photography I can tell emotions, life, feeling, fear, desire, heart, values and reality... photography, in short, allows me to express what words can hardly convey.
