About Artist
Su Shan Leong
Growing up, I was drawn to two very different worlds: fashion and animals—especially marine life. As a child, I spent hours sketching ocean scenes in crayons, inspired by the marine creatures I discovered through television and children’s encyclopedias. That early curiosity shaped a lasting appreciation for both visual storytelling and the natural world. Today, I work as an occasional fashion photographer, documenting street style, backstage moments, and runway shows across international fashion weeks. Coming from Singapore, this path was far from conventional, but one I’ve been fortunate to carve out through perseverance and passion. Alongside my creative pursuits, I maintain a full-time career in corporate procurement; an industry vastly different from fashion which continues to support and fund my artistic journey. While I’ve found meaningful opportunities and recognition in fashion photography, my connection to wildlife remains deeply personal. I approach wildlife photography as an amateur driven purely by curiosity and admiration rather than profession. Balancing both worlds allows me to explore contrasting narratives—one rooted in human expression and design whilst the other in the quiet, untamed beauty of nature. Ultimately, I hope to continue growing creatively and evolve my passion into a full-time career that bridges both fashion and wildlife storytelling.
