Breath of the Hunter
A winter dawn in the canyon. Out of the shadow, a solitary figure emerges. As he shakes of the lethargy of the night, he draws a deep breath and yawns - a silent, powerful gesture of life meeting the freezing air. For a fleeting second, the heat of the predator is rendered visible, ghostlike.

Thomas Bil
I am Thomas Bil, a photographer based in the Netherlands. I am working almost exclusively with natural light and minimal intervention. Much of the work emerges from extended time in the field, where waiting becomes part of the process. My work explores stillness, atmosphere, and presence through quiet moments in nature. Rather than pursuing spectacle, I am drawn to subtle alignments of light, landscape, and animal behaviour—images shaped by patience, observation, and restraint.
