About Artist
Mathieu Yamaguchi
Mathieu Yamaguchi is a french-japanese photographer, firstly graduated in Architecture at the Paris-Malaquais National School of Architecture. With an early practice of analog photography, he believes that drawing is an important base in pictures composition. His life has been a dramatically long journey between France and Japan, between western and oriental art. Having practiced architecture (Saint Marc golf facilities, near Paris); objects design (lauréat of the International European Space Agency international design competition), and art ceramic with great masters, Mathieu Yamaguchi considers those multiple art practices, including photography, as a single one, defined by rythms, vibrations, silences, and colors. He founds no difference in the creation process among them. Influenced by the Taoists precepts, he sees himself as a simple channel, modestly holding and communicating a flow of our surrounding energy.
