A Mother's Love

I spent a week with Humpback whales in Silverbank (a cetacean reserve) ... and this was my first foray into shooting underwater. I love the gentle touch of the calf's pecoral fin on the mother's back.

About Artist

Carrie Culp

Photography, to me, is a deeply personal journey, a way of capturing the fleeting moments that define our common existence. I rarely go anywhere without my camera as these moments can occur at any time and in any place. I like to say that photography itself is “a good walk improved.” My creative process is rooted in curiosity and a sense of discovery. I am inspired by the transformative power of light, the rhythm of shapes, and the intricacies of textures. Through my lens, I strive to capture the ordinary and the extraordinary, uncovering the details that are often overlooked in the rush of daily life. Whether exploring the quiet poetry of landscapes or the raw authenticity of emotions, my photographs aim to evoke reflection, wonder, and an appreciation of our shared world.
