About Artist
Giovanna Aryafara
Giovanna’s love for photography began over 40 years ago in Australia, and what started as a simple passion for capturing moments quickly turned into something much more profound. Her journey took her to New Zealand, where she spent several years as a school photographer, but the people and places she encountered worldwide truly shaped her approach. Over the years, her work has been showcased in exhibitions across the globe, from Australia to Bali, Bangkok, Brazil, Mexico, and Africa. Some of her most memorable moments include participating in the Africa Photo Festival in New York in 2018 and exhibiting at the Atlas of Humanity in Paris and Italy in 2019. In 2020, she was honored with the Africa in Focus Prize for People, Cultures & Communities and was a finalist in the Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) Awards. Her return to Paris in 2022 for the Atlas of Humanity International Photo Exhibition once again captured attention, as her photography continues to draw people in with its raw emotion and authenticity. That same year, she was named Wilderness Safaris Photographer of the Year, a title that recognised her ability to tell stories through her images. Her work has since been featured in National Geographic Italy and India in 2023. Most recently, she was honoured with an Honourable Mention in the 2024 International Photography Awards, a reminder of her ongoing journey and the support she’s received along the way In 2025, Giovanna’s portraits were highlighted in respected publications, like Lens Magazine (both in their Cultural and Big Black & White editions) and Womenz Straight Talk. Her work also appeared in a number of African publications. Her photography isn’t just about images, it’s about connecting with people and capturing the essence of the moments that matter most. As a photographer, Giovanna Aryafara travels the world searching for subjects that awaken our emotions, invoke a sense of shared spirituality, and reveal our world through a minimalist, design-inspired lens. Her works offer access to the beauty of our Earth, inspired by her love of sharing the diversity of human experience
