Steve Evans was born and raised in the small village of Richmond in the Ottawa Valley. He started taking photographs in the late 80's and decided he wanted to document the lives of the older people, not just in his village but throughout the valley. He is a self taught photographer who considers Walker Evans, Diane Arbus and Dorothea Lange to be influences on his work. Evans became a member of the Who's Who in Canada for his work as a documentary photographer.
