Paleozoic, 2

The aquarium’s sparse lighting and the reflective quality of fish scales create a high-contrast visual environment. This contrast in the photograph obscures the aquarium’s physical boundaries, transforming it into a seemingly vast underwater space, where deep shadows lend an air of ambiguity.

About Artist

Yong Min Park

Yong Min Park is a photographer based in NYC. He focuses on capturing moments of silence and dream-like scenes through the camera. He started photography because he was drawn to the hyper-realistic potential of this art form, which can both depict reality and distort it. He is mainly influenced by Edward Steichen, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and Andre Kertesz. His work varies from snapshots to conceptual fine art photography.
