Aisling Edwards is a visual artist producing a combination of sculptural interventions and observed landscapes considering themes of climate change and sustainability for future generations. Edwards trained at Falmouth University, UK, where she obtained a First-Class Honours in BA Photography in 2021. From here Edwards was awarded a mentorship with the photographer and researcher, Dr. Yan Wang Preston, under the Redeye Graduate Mentoring Scheme 2021, with whom she has remained in touch with since.
Since graduating Edwards’ work has been exhibited in the UK, Europe and USA, including at Newlyn Art Gallery, Cornwall, where it was viewed by G7 visitors to the gallery; published in ‘Artists Responding To’ available via Tate Modern, London and given a talk alongside Harvey
Hood on “How does contemporary public sculpture transform our landscape?”, commissioned by Cardiff University Centre of Creative Economy and Monmouthshire County Council.
In 2024, Edwards is working on many projects including the launch of more works from her series ‘Revisiting Landscapes, Hayle’ (2020 – present) in the Spring and the launch of her 3-year project ‘The Felling’ (2021-2024) in the Autumn. In April 2024, two of Edwards’ artworks will feature at Milan International Photography Fair in April 2024 as part of Erik Kessels: Welcome To My Unknown Award – 1st Edition. In June, Edwards’ collection will exhibit in her first major solo showcase at Canwood Gallery and Sculptural Gardens in Herefordshire, UK, which will encompass two Damien Hirst solo shows.
