Biography
Alexandra Thannhäuser is a proud mother of nature-loving twins and lives with them and her Australian Labradoodle in the city of Düsseldorf.
Since 2022, Alexandra has been an aspiring photographer with a diverse portfolio spanning both creative and academic fields. She holds a Diploma in Architecture from the Münster School of Archi- tecture in Germany as well as a Master’s degree in Design & Digital Media from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.Her professional background includes the application of e-learning methods, knowledge management techniques and the integration of new technologies into educational systems involving virtual reality.
In 2023, Alexandra was as a finalist in the Streetphotographers‘ Awards, her work was exhibited at the Teheran Streetphoto Festival and she was featured in Docu Book Vol. 31 - Best of Documentary & Street Photography.
In 2024, Alexandra won third place in a book publishing competition run by Snap Collective and was a finalist in Smithsonian Magazine’s 21st annual photography competition. At the International Photography Awards (IPA) 2024, she was awarded first place in the ‘Architecture Abstract’ category and second place in the ‘Special, Smartphone Photography’ category in the Non-Professional Division.
Alexandra‘s focus is particularly on the art of photography and she pursues her multifaceted career with determination, dedication and a love for creative expression.
