Feather Cape

A female Australasian Darter dries her feathers in the late afternoon sun. Also known as the Snake-bird for its distinctive kinked neck curve, the darter differs from many waterbirds in that its feathers absorb water to assist it diving, so they spread their wings after swimming to allow them to dry

About Artist

Mark Doro

I am a wildlife, nature and travel photographer, based in Port Stephens, NSW, Australia. In my travels throughout Australia, Africa and Asia, I have strived to create photographs that capture the essence of wild animals and wild places. I hope to inspire concern and action for the protection of wildlife and natural habitat, and generate a lasting emotional connection in people to the natural world around them.
