Underwater Photographer • Ocean Advocate • Storyteller
Peter Hutchins is an award-winning Australian underwater photographer who brings the quiet beauty of the ocean to life through intimate encounters with green sea turtles, seahorses, manta rays, and the many marine residents of Cabbage Tree Bay. His work blends art with advocacy, inspiring people to protect the wildlife and waterways that make our coastlines unique.
Based in Manly, Peter spends countless hours freediving, documenting marine behaviour, and sharing stories that help communities understand the fragile balance beneath the surface. His canvas prints, calendars, and ocean-themed products support marine rescue work through direct donations, and his images are regularly featured in exhibitions and competitions.
Peter’s mission is simple. Use compelling photography to reconnect people with the ocean, encourage responsible stewardship, and show that anyone can explore and care for the blue world that surrounds us.
