About Artist
Jasmine Lord
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Jasmine studied and obtained an undergraduate degree in film and theatre at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga. Jasmine then trained at AFTRS and ARRI Australia to become an "AC” (a motion picture camera assistant) & camera prep technician before relocating to the United States. Photography was also a medium Jasmine leaned into, (she purchased her first SLR in 2002 in NYC) For a period of time, she worked for Lomography Gallery Store Los Angeles. It was here she was able to really experiment with photographing on different analogue cameras and film stocks, while also sharpening her skills as an educator to customers wanting to learn more about the functions of their camera. In 2010 Jasmine started to work as a freelance camera operator filming and live-streaming runway and fashion shows with Indigital Media in New York, Sydney, Toronto and Miami. Camera operating became the main focus of her career. Jasmine has since worked on many projects in film, tv, fashion, documentary and entertainment. Strongly encouraged by two fine art photographers who have deeply inspired Jasmine over the years, Rocky Schenck and Zoe Wiseman, Jasmine has delved into the world of art nude photography. Whether she is photographing models in landscapes or working on dance art films, Jasmine feels this when she is able to lean into her early education in theatre, movement and collaboration . Over the years Jasmine has photographed two nutrition books for "Eat Naked" and one book for Sally Joseph "Love Your Gut". In 2011, Jasmine's images were accepted into the juried exhibit of Filter Photo Festival in Chicago. She has also photographed for the AFI (American Film Institute) festival and life achievement awards (Nicole Kidman, John Williams, George Clooney and Denzel Washington) Jasmine has also worked for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society as a photographer and videographer, lending her platform as a voice for others and lensed the award winning feature documentary Knots: A Forced Marriage Story, which raises awareness to the issue of forced and child marriage in the United States of America. Her fashion credits include: Tiffany & Co, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Vera Wang, Oscar del la Renta, Etro, Ulla Johnson, to name a few. In the summer Jasmine teaches photography classes to teenagers at the Los Angeles Centre of Photography. Jasmine is a member of IATSE Local 600, an associate member of the SOC (Society of Camera Operators) and an active member of the ACS (Australian Cinematographers Society).
