About Artist
Sergey Gorshkov
Sergey Gorshkov was born in a faraway Siberian village. Sergey has extensive field experience, he has been filming wildlife for over 20 years. Sergey has received many awards for his works. He is the holder of two “Photographer of the year in Russia” awards, received in 2007 and 2012. In 2020 Sergey won the title of photographer of the year of the WPY 2020. In 2024, Sergey won the title of Photographer of the Year in the Italian «Bio Photo Contest». His personal project is Russia’s Wildlife. Kamchatka, where he started shooting his first project. Sergey's projects include shooting in the Russian Arctic, and he has worked extensively on the Chukchi Peninsula, Wrangel Island, the Taimyr Peninsula, the Putorana Plateau, Franz Josef Land, and the North Pole. The Story of the World's Greatest photography" Sergey published 17 photo stories in the magazine "National Geographic Russia" 2004-2022. "In Search of a Dream Shot" "Taimyr" "Embrace of the Amur Tiger" Sergey filmed stories about Siberian tigers and Amur leopards for the BBC documentary "Frozen Planet 2" In 2020, Sergey received the title of "Photographer of the Year" at the most prestigious wildlife Photographer of the Year competition for Siberian tiger photography. One of Sergey's favorite photos was awarded the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award.
