I’m a photographer with a distinct focus on avant-garde expression. Under my photographic moniker, MyOwnOrlando, I aim to construct a world where themes of hidden desire, sensuality, and controversy take the center stage. Growing up in the Midwest as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, my experiences with and witnessing substance abuse, mental health struggles, and personal trauma have profoundly shaped my artistic vision. These themes form the foundation of my work, manifesting either explicitly or implicitly, as I seek to highlight the desires we all share yet often suppress. The exploration and discussion of these subjects is essential, using art to provoke conversation and challenge social norms. Employing both analog and digital mediums, I incorporate a range of photographic styles to bring my ideas to life. Whether documenting abandoned spaces or crafting conceptual projects, I remain grounded in a commitment to exposing raw, often overlooked aspects of the human experience.
