Bio
I, Yuriy Shepeta, was born in 1971 in Ukraine. I graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in Biology. After completing my studies, I embarked on a scientific career, engaging in the monitoring of terrestrial ecosystems in Antarctica – a unique region that serves as an important indicator of global climate change. My research is focused on expanding scientific knowledge about this territory and studying the processes that reflect the impact of climate change on the planet. At the age of 18, I discovered photography, which became a means to capture the fleeting moments and beauty of the world around me. Over the years, I honed my skills by participating in photography competitions both in Ukraine and abroad. I had the opportunity to serve as a host for Ukrainian and international photography competitions, which continues to inspire my creative growth. Since 2017, I have been a member of the National Society of Photo Artists of Ukraine (NSPAU), which allows me to exchange experiences and connect with like-minded individuals. In addition to my creative work, I engage in professional commercial photography and have two years of experience teaching photography in a private photo school. My Facebook page, which once actively showcased my work, was blocked due to my outspoken stance regarding Russia's war against Ukraine.
