Bio
I was born in 1947 in the northernmost part of Germany. In 1968 I joined the Navy to become an officer. As I expected to see a lot of the world, I bought myself a good camera. I quickly discovered that I had a photographic eye. So photography became my hobby. But while I was working and after starting a family, it died down a bit. It was only after upheavals in my private life and my retirement, as well as encouragement from my second wife, that I found my way back to photography. I was looking for my own style. I experimented a lot because for me the image was just the starting point for further processing. Surrealist photos and also abstract painting-like images emerged. Image editing software became an indispensable tool for me. Small exhibitions and the sale of images showed me that I was on the right track. In the last two years I have concentrated on black and white photography for architectural details. In Berlin, where I have lived for around 15 years, there are plenty of motifs for this. I will pay particular attention to the abstraction of the photos so that the actual motif is no longer recognizable.
