With a background in economics and over two decades in the financial markets in London, she brings analytical precision and emotional sensitivity to a practice that is both technically rigorous and deeply intuitive. Her work explores themes of identity, survival, heritage and the relationship between humans and the natural world. Whether photographing wild horses on the Anatolian plateau, Arctic wildlife in extreme conditions, or constructing staged underwater portraits, Tucker is drawn to environments that test both subject and photographer. She is particularly interested in the tension between control and surrender — a recurring thread in her visual language. Black and white photography holds a special place in her practice.
