12 years ago she was paralysed and couldn't walk. On 16 May 2025 Sarah Ruggins claimed the outright record for cycling the length of the UK and back, a total of 2,700KM, in 5 days 11 hours and 14 minutes, beating the previous male record holder by nearly 7 hours and the previous female by 4.5 days.

This was taken during the 2025 Race Around Rwanda. I love the way the mist created a stark contrast between the people crossing the bridge - including one of the racers - and the valley behind them. It forces your eye to take in each character and consider what’s going through their minds.
