Elena Raceala lives in Constanta, a Romanian city on the shores of the Black Sea, and works as a nurse at Constanta Emergency Clinical Hospital. She is a semi-professional photographer, Curator and Editorial Manager of 100ASA - curated photo online gallery. She discovered her passion for photography in 2013, during a trip in Napoli and since that moment a part of her, lives through photography. She loves travelling and taking pictures, documenting every place she passes through, she could say can't visit a place unless can take pictures. Elena Raceala started as a self-taught photographer and then attended a series of workshops, online courses, and the School of Photographic Art in Constanta. The transition from street and travel photography has helped her to express her emotions and own vision, her collections can be classified as Fine Art with surreal, grunge or poetic valences. What she wants is for the emotion she felt when creating the frames to reach the viewer. Her works are introspective exercises, simulations of present and future interventions in her own life, following a wandering soul eternal searching for light and her own way. Elena Raceala is always seeking after something new, from moody and surreal street moments to reportage, from creative portraiture and conceptual approaches of current themes, to experiments using a prism and Lensbaby as creative elements or techniques such as double exposures and Intentional Camera Movement. She is a winner of numerous international awards, nomination and honorable mentions. Relevant moments In 2019, she received a diploma from the School of Photographic Art at the Cultural Center "Teodor Th. Burada" in Constanta. In 2020 she attends and receives a diploma for "Seeing Through Photographs" with curator Sarah Meister / online course authorized by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Main exhibitions March 2020. April 2023. Participation in the exhibition and photo book “Woman’s Essence” 2023 at Berlin, event organized by Musa International. At this moment, she is interested in creative, conceptual photography, as well as street and documentary photography. Part of her wants to express herself and part of her wants to collect what is already represented.
