Annemarie Jung is a Luxembourg-based photographic artist whose work explores human experience, identity and the often ambiguous relationship between the individual and their surroundings. Working across conceptual and narrative photography, she is particularly interested in the human presence and in creating images that resist immediate interpretation. Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe, the United States, Asia and the Middle East. Recent and forthcoming presentations include the Lucie Foundation in Los Angeles, Urban Photo Awards at Trieste Photo Days, and Static Cinema in Venice during the 61st Venice Biennale. Her photography has also been presented at Xposure in Sharjah and recognized by the Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest, International Photography Awards, Siena International Photo Awards, HIPA, 1839 Awards and Exposure One. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine and other international publications. Jung’s artistic practice is informed by an interdisciplinary background spanning the arts, humanities, law, business and technology. She holds five master’s degrees, including Photography, English Literature, Law, Business Administration, and Journalism and Communication. Her further studies encompass artificial intelligence and its governance, ethics, blockchain and digital technologies. She is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS).
